well heres the story kinda pises me off but it was a learning curve for sure ....started off fighting snow up to my marbles then got on the snow drifts wich are 3 ft deep on average on the south end until almost devils ..which makes drilling thru the snow and ice almost impossible... for a ways started at 10 fow drill 2 holes jigged for 4 mins  nothing moved to 20 fow set up my cam equipment to take some pics sat down and started jigging and thought i was snagged , nope big deep head shakes and a long run then it was like pulling on a brick wall .... 15 mins later got him to the hole tail was as wide as the hole 10 inches or so  he was wrapped head to tail in line so i tryed getting him unwrapped how ever in a last ditch effort he ran fast and hard and boom not a thing pull my line up and my swivel broke in half i was a lil up set but u learn .........don't buy cheap crap like me and this is the bait and the what is left of the swivel

Damn that sucks! How heavy do you figure he was? Length? Did you tip the jig with any meat or use any attractant?

That's too bad, TS23!  Sounds like one of those lunkers we all hope for when we go there.  I'm guilty of going cheap on things like swivels, too.  Guess I'll have to rethink that.

Bummer! sorry for your lost TS23, that's a moment that can bring a man to tears.
Sucks when tackle fails, no matter if it's fishing freshwater ultra light or super heavy in saltwater, when a snap or a barrel breaks it really sucks, been there done that and there's no words that can sooth that moment.

Thats a real problem these days You do your part and get stiffed by substandard equipment. In the new world market even top dollar doesn't mean quality. You have to test everything. Swivels seem the worst. So bad I weight test them, sacrifice some of the pack just to see. I've had 12 lb barrel swivels pop at 5 lbs. Split rings pull free at 10 lbs. Sorry state of affairs. At least you saw your fish, that's worth something.
