got this bad boy. He was hiding in with a school on gills. Also got about 6 rainbows. Too bad none were over 16" and all went back in. Tons of baby gills.

Make sure your boots are submersible. Once you drill a hole you got about 6" of water

I will be there this weekend. I know exactly what your talking about with the tiny gills and Im sure he was hiding in the school bc I had some big marks a couple weeks ago they just wouldn't hit mostly bc the gills got to the jig first. Really hoping to see more smallies be caught now that it's late ice

what are you using to get those small fish? I know they're there but even those won't even bite. At candlewood had at least 4-5lb smallie break off at the hole on a jigging rod, gold sweedish pimple, jig aggressively.

I parked over by the boat launch and walked out from there. It's deep at first but evens out to walking on hard pack and walking through 4 to 6 " of snow. It isn't too bad in the bay but gets a lot worse towards the west side of the lake. Hopefully some of the snow melted today.

Was getting the small gills with mousies on a pink tungsten clam drop and a gold rattling flyer tipped with spikes and mousies. I was getting them to bite by pulling them way off the bottom. Making them chase it. Got a perch, rainbows and that smallie that way.
