Erie perch
« on: Mar 03, 2015, 04:25 PM »
Heading to Erie for only my 2nd time. I have gps coordinate from a buddy where he fished last weekend for eyes. Was wondering if anyone had any for perch or another walleye spot for a back up plan. Heading out from Catawba. Also wondering what time bait shop opens there.  Any info is appreciated.

I'm new to this and this coming Saturday will only be our 2nd trip up.  We were at the bait shop at 4 and didn't expect it to open until 6, however, it opened at 4:30 Rickards (I believe that the name).  Have not heard anything of perch, with the exception of the occasional odd ball. We are waiting to see what this rain and other weather does to the hard water before heading up.  SAFETY FIRST, if ya know what I mean.  Tight lines.....

The perch bite remains good around the islands..Its been that way all year..I catch 4 or 5 jumbos almost every time out and I don't fish for them...If I down sized it might be really good...good luck play safe.....
