Team Connecticut photo contest
« on: Mar 03, 2015, 07:15 AM »
Several members have requested that the Team CT photo be updated. If you have a photo you wish to have considered, please post it here. Since we have until next year to choose there's no hurry, I propose we keep the thread going until April 15th since it looks like our ice season may extend through March. I'll set up a poll at the end, if there are a lot of photos they will be pared down to five or six for the poll. If this turns out to be popular, maybe an annual contest would be fun.

I would also suggest that we incorporate our photo into a badge format similar to the NY photo, they paste the photo into a frame consisting of the border of their state. Probably would look good since CT has a fairly rectangular shape.

Not in CT so I don't think it should be considered but it's the kind of picture that I think captures the essence of icefishing. It was around -10 when this sunrise shot was taken last weekend. BBRRRR!!!

These are the general picture posting instructions contained in the FAQ's section:

http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=31022.msg300148#msg300148

I find it easiest to use Photobucket. Once the picture is uploaded to your bucket:
1. When viewing your entire album, open the picture you want to post by double clicking on it.
2. Click the edit icon, it's one of several at the top of the picture. Resize the picture to 400 x 600 pixels so it doesn't distort the page, then save the edited image.
3. Open the edited image by double clicking, then click on the "IMG" box to the right of the edited image. It is a left click, do not try to right click, swipe or highlite it. When you click the box it will flash the word "copied".
4. Click into your post, then right click and select paste.
5. Always preview before posting. If it can't be viewed please don't post it.

I tried resizing it, but the photo aspect ratio was distorted. In Photobucket, when you resize you only need to put a 600 value in the width box, the aspect ratio will be retained and the height will set automatically.

I suggest giving everyone until April 15th to post their pictures, then I'll set up a poll.
