« on: Mar 01, 2015, 04:56 PM »
So I do a lot of spring fishing about sturgeon pool in the river, but how is the pool for ice fishing? Anybody been out there this season, never fished it so any tips in where to go would be great and is the ice safe? Thanks?

Haven't fished it this year, but you can catch crappies and white perch at the north end across the cove ( near the coffee place on 213).  Access to the lake isn't bad there but you have to cross the guard rail.  With all this snow parking may be an issue.  If you go strait across that cove  to the far side from the road and fish the drop off you should pick up crappie and white perch.

There will be a bunch of us out there this Sunday all day looking to find the crappies there are a lot of them in there. There's 14-16" of ice on sturgeon pool. We even fished the river by the 32 bridge for walleyes had 15" of ice on the river
