Mazonia South unit today

Well we walked back into the 'Wilderness Area" to find it aint so! Long Lake looked like an old loaf of Swiss cheese. Lots of old holes and then we made some new ones-ice was 12-15 inches everywhere we drilled. Fish where very sporadic and on the small side 3-24 fow. Made the long walk back then headed to Pondo  drilled and drilled and walked and walked marked very few but did manage a couple of dinks still 12-15 inches of ice. headed to the north unit and fished a small lake same thing dinks and 2 dink LMB.  I'm staying close to home tomorrow and catch some real fish- no need to drive 45 miles.

That is my fear too and what has kept me from heading out there. I live about as far and don't want to waste a trip if I am not sure about catching fish. Already drove an hour one way to Valpo and came home with an empty bucket.

Hit several private ponds close to home. Nothing but dinks.

Resorted to Vandacamps in the oven with fries. Sucked!
