Taking girlfriend out for her 1st time ice fishing
« on: Feb 26, 2015, 12:25 PM »
So Taking the girlfriend out for her 1st time ice fishing. I kinda want to set up for trout. Thinking maybe lakers. I have done well at caspian in the past, with 8-10 per day. Just hate catching 18-22 inch fish. Wheres best to catch them on champlain??

Just don't forget the most important piece of equipment when bringing females onto the ice.... a port-a-potty.  This will save you a lot of headaches and increase your ice time.  As for the lakers, any place north of the Champlain Bridge up to Button Bay will hold lakers.  Good Luck.

She probably wont care what kind of fish she is catching, just as long as she is catching them.

there were 4 wheeler tracks headed that way. large truck tracks on the ice near the bay. the surface is pretty hard with little snow out on the ice, more snow near the edges where it has blown in. ice was 12+ where I was just outside of the bay.
