tip for greenbriar
« on: Feb 25, 2015, 12:16 PM »
I'm new to ice fishing and planned to try greenbrier out this weekend. Does anyone have any tips on fishing it and what bait to use?

Danny05,

If you read the Greenbriar thread in this year's MD Reports & Conditions you will find some good advice.

Let us know if you give it a try.

Hi Danny05.  I've fished Blair's Valley, it's been a few years (3-4) however.  We did pretty well on the trout, but to be fair, they had cut through the ice and dumped a load in in advance of a strong winter storm that year.  Went several times and did ok, I haven't been back since.  Did you get to Greenbriar this past weekend?  I've also fished there and have done well, usually a mixed bag of panfish (crappies and bluegills) with the occasional trout.  Was planning on heading there this past Sunday with a buddy, but some unexpected weather moved in, plus they had the entrance to the park blocked, so we had to cancel.   Let me know how you made out if you got there.
