smelt balls

so I remember my uncle always using these "smelt balls", they worked wicked. I don't remember what the hell he put in it all I know is it was dough,ground smelt and im sure there was more stuff he added, if anyone knows what the hell im talking about pls share your similar recipe as I wanna give them a try in march when I rip up to the cabin. thanks

That's a new fishing trick, I've never smelt balls before...... Bahahahahahaaaa.  I had to.

After everyones smart comments  the recipe includes .
Smelts , White corn syrup, egg yokes and regular flour.
put in zip lock bag and mix . I also like to add some berkley walleye
lure.
mix into a thick dough  and refridgerate over night.
Make balls and form over treble hooks as needed.
We use them on dead men for pike or on treble hooks for walleye fishing.
Usually this bait out fish smelts two to one.
