Lake Winnipeg: Quad access from South Beach Casino??
« on: Feb 20, 2015, 07:10 PM »
Getting ready to ready for our annual trip up to the land of pigs and was curious if anyone could help me out with a question.  We have stayed in both Selkirk and at the casino in the past and have accessed the lake via chalet beach or pruden creek.  Wondering if there is a way to head out from the casino parking lot with quads? I know you can take the ditch with sleds and head up to the brokenhead and out onto the lake.  I am assuming the ditch is considered a groomed trail and it would be frowned upon (plus prolly fined) if we tore it up with quads.  Are we better of just trailering up to balsam to access.  Thanks for the help!!

I would suggest trailer to the lake. Lots of room to park there and no hassle riding the ditch.

Thanks for the replies fellas, don't know how much we want to pull a truck and trailer out on prudens.  I like my equipment dry, there always has to be a first truck to go thru, would prefer it not to be me.  Will prolly trailer up to Balsam, just not real familiar with the parking situation up there.

Prudens has became a sh1t show, guys(tards) like to park right at the turn around point making it very difficult to turn a truck and trailer around

We were just there.  Stayed at the Casino.  We actually went on at Chalet Bay.  Lots of room to park.  We were still able to access the ice by truck.  There is a brand new Canalta Inn in Selkirk.  There was virtually no one there.  Fishing was good off of Chalet.
