I am planning to do 3-4 hours tomorrow
morning. Looks like it's going to be cold.
Just picked up a Mr. Heater for $39.99 at
Benny's. Going to break 'ER in come morning

Set up on Lincoln woods just before noon. Four flags so far, a 1.41 bass and 2.05 pick so far. Seeing a lot of fish on the flasher but can't seal the deal.

Brendog, was that you in the blue shelter? My friend and I were the two guys set up farther in the cove. Four plus hours
and not one single flag!! At least I Jigged up one measly trout. Bite must have turned on as we were leaving.

Wow! Was that water coming out of the whole do to all of the weight of the snow or from the slush? How are the conditions out there (ice/slush/snow) ? Also, what type of snow shoes do you have and do you recommend them?
Just add water.

Yeah, I kept marking fish on the Vex but they wouldn't hit except that one. I was being lazy about it, though. Kept the same 1/12 oz Kastmaster on the whole time.

Sharps - yeah, the water was unreal. Kept coming from under the snow no matter how much we bailed out.

As for snowshoes, the ones in the picture of my friend are made by a company called Dion in Vermont.  I would definitely recommend them, but they are not cheap. I got my wife a pair for Christmas from ocean state job lot… A little under $50 if memory serves. REI should be putting winter clothes out on sale pretty soon. You can get a decent pair from Atlas or Tubbs for $100 or less.

I got back to back strikes on a PK flutterfish and that's been it. I've been emptying the playbook with no luck.

Do you think it would be a mission to get out there with no snowshoes?

I did it. Walking out and off was rough. My advice, pack light.

The slush and water were a real PITA. I am hoping to get out there again some morning this week, but it is tough to decide if it's worth it. Anybody been on Waterman's lately?
