strikemaster or gator ion

OK my ten year old Jiffy 30 10" has been to the small engine shop and still runs like crap at high output.  Ready to make a new investment.  What is the best electric auger and why?

I have used the strikemaster electric but from the videos i have seen in comparison the ice gator wins.

I have a Electra laser but put a chipper blade on it. It cuts good but I only use it in my wheel house and only drilling six holes at a time.  I do have a friend that has a ice gator and he loves it.

one word ION, never go back after you own one, 15 below, 40 holes last weekend still going strong ! love it, read up, find anything bad, nope, all good

40 holes through how much ice?

I know a few people with these and with the 16-22" ice we have now, they are lucky if they get 20 holes on one battery.

2nd year with my ion------best I could do was about 15 holes through 30 inches of ice.  I called ion and they said I should be getting around 1000 inches of ice on a fully charged battery...........I told them NO WAY was I getting that kind of performance.  They sent me a return authorization to send my battery in for checking.  We'll see
