Cimhawk send a member screen name of Mainehazmat a personal message he has owned one since they first appeared on the ice fishing scene. when they first came on the market there were some issues believe they have been corrected. You may want to look at the Ion auger also electric I got to try one yesterday nice unit. Once it bites into the ice hold on and let the auger do the work.

Four years on my Icegator. Its more auger than the average guy will ever use. You cant compare it to a Ion. I have found the two videos are 100% accurate to the same Icegator that I own. You will always here good and bad about anything you purchase. No matter what it is. Just make sure your happy with it, it fits your budget. and does the job you want. Weather its gas, propane, electric, or manual. Make yourself happy.
