North end of salmon had a foot of ice a month ago so it should be fine, and a friend of mine fished the north end of seely last weekend and didn't have any problems.  May have slush, but ice should be ok....  Bring a spud bar just the same as the ice all over western mt has been more funky than usual and the 50 degree weather probably hasn't helped.

was up to Salmon today and the ice was anywhere between 8 to 16 inches but the fishing was poor

Made a brief trip to Placid Lake last Sunday, mostly to snoop around and try my new fish finder. There was 3" of hard clear ice underneath, then 8" of white ice on top of that with slush and crust over it. Felt strange to walk on but plenty of ice and it's been getting cold at night.

Caught a couple kokanee but that's it. Beautiful evening and a nice drive.
