Nicatous Region Road and Ice Conditions
« on: Jan 29, 2015, 12:36 PM »
Can anyone tell me ice and/or road conditions for the Nicatous Area?  Looking to fish either West or Duck lake.  I do not have a sled, so I guess my access is limited there.  I assume the best access would be coming down through Burlington.

Thank you.

You won't make it into Duck without a sled unless you like hiking..... alot......12 miles. ;D  West is do-able without a sled.

Definitely need a sled to get to duck.  The road turns into an ITS trail once they start grooming it and driving on it will get you in a bind.

Thanks gents.  Just trying to figure out some new waters around Old Town.  I fished Cold Stream the 2 previous Sundays and it was slow.  Trying some where new this weekend.  What about public access on Eskutassis?  The atlas shows no boat landing on it, how would one go about accessing it by foot?

I've fished Titcomb Pond in the spring, how is it in the winter?

Is Upper Cold Stream any better than Cold Stream?

Not looking for spots or holes to fish, just general experiences on how these different lakes do in the winter.

Upper has more perch but a little better action.  No access though just from the big lake.
