Misadventures in Pike Fishing
« on: Jan 29, 2015, 08:02 AM »
Had an... interesting day out pike fishing last Saturday. Day started well with a bunch of flags and a couple fish. Then a perch set goes off, and the reel is SCREAMING. Big pike on! As you'll see in the video, I just couldn't get under the gill plate before the line snapped. Luckily, Nate redeemed the trip with a nice pike.
Later, we took advantage of the smooth ice to have some stupid fun. Here's the video, enjoy!

Another safe way to grab them is to go for the eyes, you can get a thumb and index finger in each one. A little wierd but better than the gills and definitely the mouth. Unless you're like me and catch them too big between the eyes.

That's a weird happy dance. Or was that a tantrum
Fishing is like playing at Carnegie Hall, when your good your good. But do you know how to get to Carnegie Hall? PRACTICE!

That'd be a tantrum. A grown-ass man having a little mini tantrum.

May God bless and keep you always, may your wishes all come true.
May you always do for others and let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars and climb on every rung,
May your hands always be busy, may your feet always be swift.
May you have a strong foundation when the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful, may your songs always be sung.
May you stay forever young.
