Had a chance to have a good friend come over from Wisconsin to do our annual ice fishing trip. Had a great couple of days, the bite was a bite slower than last year but we managed to find them and get some great fish! There is nothing better than a good ice fishing trip, one minute you're yelling about how to fix a pull chord on the 3-wheeler, the next minute you start catching fish and you can't stop smiling. There's something about catching fish that just brings out the best in people. I love this sport/hobby/passion/insanity!

Thanks folks! The girlfriend crochet a hat for her friends baby that looked like a shark was eating his head. It had fins and teeth, eyes and a gum line. I took one look at that thing when she was done and I said you know what..."You're gonna have to make two perch hats for next weekend." I drew up what I was thinking, even busting out the colored pencils and by the time we left we had to perch hats. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty sure that's what got us on fish, we were in the zone

There are a couple of published patterns of similiar fishy type designs you might be able to convince a wife/friend/sister to bust out for you she finds her's on Ravelry a google search should get you in the right direction. Next up is going to be a rainbow and then a pike I think. Gotta have a closet full of these things after the weekend we had! lol

I was surprised at the size of the males we were getting, most went over 13", it was nuts, hard to get another couple days like that.

Yeah got one solid over 15" the rest of the jumbos were about 14 3/4" on average, if it was jumbo chances were good it was over 14 1/2, one heck of a fishery that's for sure.
