Going to have to try this this weekend. Hopefully this will slow down some of those monster shiners I got and stop them from setting flags off!

How else do you think they get the pictures of those swirled out pike. Those gators get dizzy chasing the big goldies in circles.

Good question.  Mine are usually long dead before anything picture worthy eats them!

been doing it for years.  Usually just lay them on top of the minnow bucket and slice the tail fin with my pocket knife.  I usually try to get more of the bottom off than the top, in the hopes that it will make them swim down more than up, but I think just the fact that they are flopping around more and not going as far/fast as they normally would helps get some hits.
