Blizzard Fishing?
« on: Jan 26, 2015, 11:24 AM »
I can walk to Baboosic lake so i was thinking of taking a stroll down and fishing during the upcoming storm.  Anyone else plan on going out?  Is this just wishful thinking on my part??

It's not worth it unless you can jig inside a house and have a snowmobile you will get wind flags hole fill ups I go out to relax and enjoy if you have work like your on the job it's not enjoyable to me plus if you need a rescue for some reason they might not be able to get to ya

Depends if I end up calling into work or not lol.  I live along a rail trail and have a tow behind for the snowmobile so I may visit Tewksbury tomorrow.  Weather never really bothers me as much as it does the fish!

Fished the derby blizzard, had a blast but not much luck.  Couldn't fish where we wanted to, had to shelter behind island may have had something to do with it??  Was a blast, would definitely do it again.  Friend lost keys in the mess, still haven't found em!  Was a lot more work than usual.  We also did lose more stuff than normal, like a few tip-ups, a few cusk traps, favorite scoop, etc.  basically anything that hits the snow/ice without someone noticing right away.

Sitting here in this blizzard looking at my new wireless weather center from bass pro that gives me the hunting and fishing forecasts based on pressure, moon, temp, magic, etc. I have never (since I got it for Xmas) seen the fish forecast at zero.

1st and only time I stepped through a hole too. I also had a number two crisis situation that did not finish well for me. Bad news all the way around. Never again.

Actually starting to see and catch fish.  I have enough perch for dinner.  With no traps set I am having a ball playing with my lx9 and learning how to jig different lures.  I wasn't sure how my Eskimo fish house would handle the weather but it is great!

Have you reached this stage yet?  "Some go to church and think about fishing, others go fishing and think about God"::)  Glad you are catching fish. The fun part is going to be taking your portable down. You are a hard core for sure.
