Vineyard Lake
« on: Jan 25, 2015, 07:33 AM »
We drilled over 200 holes yesterday with little success. Did anyone do any good out there yesterday? Little concerned about finding fish for the Midwest Open next weekend. Any input?

Should be pretty challenging finding and catching fish. Everyone we talked to had a hard time finding them. Does this lake produce good pan fish thru the ice? Wamplers had some nice quality fish.

Been out several times and had a difficult time even marking a fish. One small pike. I don't think it's going to be how good you are but more like how lucky you are. Not a good lake for a tournament.

I've fished Vineyard probably more than any other inland lake in Michigan both soft and hard water and it can be stingy with the catches. It's one of those lakes you have to think outside the box on.

Scratcher,

You need to start a guide service.  You put someone on those fish on that lake and you could make some good money.

PM me.  I will put a check in the mail.  :)

Ha, the locals will put a whoopin on this event for 2015! Bet you see some real weights this year! That Lake produces some awesome catches for the folk that know where and how..... Wish I lived closer so I could attend the weigh in this year. Should be a great show!

Good luck to all.

I encourage everyone to be there at the very start of the tournament... I really is something to hear over 100 augers all starting and drilling at the same time!!

I fished in last year's event.. Pretty cool!!

I plan on doing it again some day.. If anyone has a partner back out, holler at me!

I don't buy my fuel from any BP, nor do I buy my jigs at gas stations..

I looked at your companies selection and they look really nice!

Are they, or will they be available at Knutson's or any bait shops?

Thanks man!!

I don't take my boat to inland lakes, at least not yet... I mostly walk on the little lakes.. Erie is the reason I bought it..

Good luck to everyone in the tournament!!

I know there are 12, 13, maybe even 14 inch Redears in that lake...

Yoders is a bait shop/market/gas station and only outlet in the area that carries Kodiak Jigs.  its really not uncommon for small stores like this to carry what customers want.  most stations around LSC carry ice gear and bait, ran into a station once while hunting in Atlanta that even had ammo to keep hunters stocked up.  Anyway, Yoders is the HQ for qualifying for the bonus at the tourney, good luck!

^Agreed... I really like to support as local as possible. That is the reason for my Shappell, my Stormy Kromer hat, Schooley rods etc...

Hope you get your jigs for sale to a wider array of shops someday.

Yoder's is more than a gas station, scratcher.  It's a good spot for bait and has an ok little room w/ the essentials.
