Well hopefully there will be some wind to blow off some of what's on the lake so I can still get out. Won't be any long distance trips from shore to shore that's for sure

When we had snow on the lake last year I wore snow shoe's. Made a big difference going from the shack to tending traps.I forgot to bring the snow shoe's for the sebago derby. My legs were sore for 3 days after from going for flags.

Hope it does blow off a lot. There isn't much ice to hold up that much snow. Slush city will be an understatement. Also, with all that snow on the ice we won't make much more. All that said, I have been on the ice 5 days in a row and need a day or two at home to get some stuff done, so I guess Tuesday it is!

You and Ron had better get out and get your supplies, ice fishermen are not going to be the only people hoarding up the good stuff! I was told I had to only work Monday through Thursday this week. Friday through Sunday was mine to go to Cathance. I bet DR will change that. I'm scared half to death, watching the Weather channel. Juno is going to be the end of the world.

No need to go to cathance. No fish in there. Plus with all the weather it would just be a hassle

All the hole that have been drilled this weekend will be pumping water out on the lake. I should of put staging jacks on the side of my shack.

So this snow will: a. suck because I fish on foot and don't have a shelter this year. b. will be OK because there is plenty of ice where I fish now, and I don't need an extra foot of ice on top of the existing foot.

I know that snow is a great insulator, but the tail end of the 10 day forecast calls for 4 nights below zero. Would you expect 2 feet of snow in temperatures like that to hold a foot of ice or actually reduce that? I have friends coming on Feb 7-8 and we're going fishing, so I'm just wondering.

If we get two feet of snow, that converts to slush & I doubt a sled will go very far in that crap.

I will be spending some time widening stuff around my house (almost 1/2 mile driveway) and keeping the road to my firewood lot open. Not looking at fishing again til next weekend. Hopefully the wind will have been our friend.

always thought of screwing the crank legs for a trailer on all 4 corners of the shack. I went to the junk yard and got a sizer jack I keep in the shack now.

Up in the Jackman area you might have enough ice and little enough snow for it to stay buoyant. I'll send you my prayers. Round the Bangor area we have 9-12" of ice on everything I've been fishing. Put 1-2' of snow on top of that and I is gonna be a sloppy mess for a long time. Even with the cold weather next week. Messy messy.

Juno is cranking up. Just checked the buoys. 4am update, Jonesport-40kts with gusts to 48, 13 foot seas. Matinicus- 43kts. with gusts to 49, no seas given. I would like to see some camera video of what is going on out there. Hope you guys anchored your hardsides down good.
