A vehicle went through the ice this morning about 2 miles out off Merritt St. and a father lost his life. His son is at children's hospital in critical condition. If anyone wants to go out on this lake, I would recommend 4 wheelers, snowmobiles or walking. Do NOT go alone and stay spread out. And before you leave shore, check with local bait shops and gas stations for ice conditions.

Sounds like the boy last his life as well.  Such a sad story.  Prayers to the family.

Stay safe everybody...always remember no ice is guaranteed to be "safe" ice.
