Chaumont Bay BS Thread

Bumping this up since I haven't been able to find it...

Fished Monday on Middle Shoal and put the hammer down on the perch... Fished sun-up til 11:30 and filled roughly 1.5 buckets... Threw back a bunch of fish as well. Caught a nice northern that got me excited for a walleye. Ice was in good shape there (10") but the pack ice was a little rough on the sled driving out...

EXCELLENT CATch,

Been a while since I saw such a great looking catch! I have fished the bay during Spring and caught them two at a time  ALL DAY LONG! Keep at it!

Hoping to get out there next week.  My ice time this year has been very slim....only been out twice.

I went to three mile bay and from the boat launch walked all the way out there and killed the perch in 18ft of water...mostly dinks but went home with enough decent ones for the fam. sure was a walk but def had a blast.but from my understanding everythings a hit and miss?

Thinking about fishing chaumont tomorrow morning. Haven't been up in around 5 yrs or so. I was wondering what parking access will put me closest to Johnson Shoal. I remember parking on Point Salubruis years back but not sure if it's permitted. Looking to get in some descent perch. I'm mostly an Oneida Lake guy, so I'm kind of out of my element here. I will be more than willing to swap some info. I will be traveling on foot. Thanks guys. Good luck out there and stay on top!

I've always parked at the state launch just up past the hardware store. It's a hike to the shoal but not bad with a machine. I'll be back up there tomorrow. Hoping parking is better than it was on saturday

To whoever was asking about parking on Pt Salubrious, it's still a no go.

Use the Boat launches or Guffins Bay Marina and a machine.

That would have been me. I was just curious. Just was looking for parking that would be closest to where I wanted to fish as I do not own a machine. Thanks for the info. Maybe next year I'll have a quad or sled

I saw on a Facebook page a picture of a guy with a big laker he jigged out of Chamount Bay. Is that common?? Any thoughts on going after them?

I assume that there could be monsters??
Goin' where the wind don't blow so strange,
Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain.
