Montrose

Fished Montrose for the first time this season from 7:00 till 11:00 today with little success. Only Two small perch and no flags at all. Tried roaches on tip ups and minnows and waxies jigging with only an occasional sniffer showing up on the Marcum. Ice was 8 to 10" and solid with slush and water building when i left. I did see one brown caught late morning but that was it.

XLBuck, was planning on going to Montrose this Sunday morning. Never fished any of the Chicago harbors before. Have the pier pass. Any other suggestions? Type of bait? Thanks

How do I buy the pier pass?

Go to Henry's Bait & Tackle 31st and Canal 1 block south of 31st on Canal West side of street. Pass I believe cost $10.00 good for 60 days.

You can also get a parking pass for the fisher mans lot at Burnham $10..00 good for 60 days.. a lot cheaper than paying up to $19.00 to park-  There is still free parking at Maontrose
