Brand New Marcum LxI gives inaccurate depth reading?

  I just bought a Brand New Marcum handheld LXi Depth finder. Took it out today for the first time and it read 63 feet in an actual 43 feet of water. Anyone have one of these? Guess it will be going back to Sportsmans Guide.
