Did some fishing
« on: Jan 14, 2015, 05:25 PM »
A friend and I hit a couple of lakes north of Robertson ND before I came back to work. It was the same old story when we got there.  Talked to a couple of guys and they say "You should of been here last week. There were about 300 trucks on the ice and the perch bite was crazy!" Fished most of the day in -4 temps with a 15 mph wind inside my flipover and didn't mark a fish. Just couldn't find them anywhere. One of the best things all day was the roll of elk sausage that got cooked up and made into sandwiches, the other was just sitting and BS'ing with a good friend.

It certainly isn't always about the catch.

Glad you were able to get out before heading back!

I'm pretty sure we were on the same lake! We were in 26 FOW and never marked a fish...moved over to 10 FOW and had a 6" perch size up our jigs for about a half hour. Needless to say we left...

Nothing seems to attract a crowd quite like a hot Perch bite, even if it doesn't get mentioned online somewhere. (to the best of my knowledge)

@ c_becker11 When I'm out icefishing I usually have my yellow and black Can Am ATV in the back of a white (when washed) F150, using a old Clam flipover.  Stop by and say Hi!
