      Haven't done the tournament thing in a few seasons now but, ya never know. They should have a spring sheepshead tournament. Some real big ones come out of there each year. A few hit the deck of the old Smoker too...............

Yeah, I picked up a 10 pound sheepshead on a perch tip down a few years ago.  I thought I had hooked into a nice walleye.  I was quite disappointed when I pulled it through the hole.

Yea I made that Sheepshead comment "tongue in cheek" because Devo's son Jaime caught the NYS record sheepshead out of there last year-28#!!!  Let's see you get that baby through the ice!!

     LOL! I heard Mike, that's one hell of a drum. I kinda meant  a spring contest because that's when they're in heavy and thick in Ibay. I personally have never seen one come through the ice and couldn't imagine trying to ice one that big. You'd need a 15"+ hole. The Smoker is my boat btw, not my grill.lol

UM, Shawner, a 15inch hole may be a little tight, ......that fish was almost 30 inches in DIAMETER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the mount and I'll attest to that size!!  Now that is (was) a PIG!!

     Lord, 30" never saw the pic. You had to be ecstatic for your son and have him catch a state record fish outta the home waters! Not bad my friend, gotta be proud of that one forever! Like to see the pic.....

Good luck to all that are fishing the tourney. Been fishing the bay for the past week except on Tuesday when i went to Oneida for the day. I wish the perch here would be more aggressive like Oneida but its early yet. As Far as the tourney is concerned, ill be taking the weekend off I'm sore and beat up by the drag and its only going to get worse if some wind dont blow it clean. Fished mowhawk for a shallow bite, marking lots but catching little. Fish were 7 to 10in and the drag sucked.
