Auger blade sharpening
« on: Jan 13, 2015, 09:59 AM »
I have done a search for Auger sharpening and listed several sites below.  I'm sure there are more I haven't listed but my question is have any of you shanty members used any of these services or any others you would like to mention?  I'm looking for a good and bad reviews.  I have several sets of lazar mag blades needing some attention.

I haven't done it personally but a friend used the redrockstore website and he said he was happy with their service. He said the customer service was great and he would recommend it. Hope this helps!

Doesn't that take a lot off each time? I use a magic marker and then go over it with a stone or Diamond file and take off just the black from the marker. Sharpens the blades great.

using the cutoff wheel does take off more material than most other ways but its definitely a quick easy fix and should last most of a season..using an extra fine tip sharpie along the blade edge is a good idea though..

Go to DULE BLADES SUCK  site. It is $10 plus 2.95  shipping to sharpen a set of my blades. The turn around is guaranteed 3 days. Send my Mora and Strike Master blades there at years end. I like to start off with 2 sets have  just incase some thing happens unexpectedly.

I touch up my Mora blades with a diamond hone, but a good sharpening with the proper jigs to guide you can't be beat!
I have a Locksmith/bait/gunsmith shop near me that does them.
Take your kids hunting and fishing!
