LAKE ST. CATHERINE
« on: Jan 11, 2015, 02:20 PM »
I am planning a trip up to Lake St. Catherine, I have never fished there before and was wondering if anyone had and tips or tricks about St. Catherine that would help, and also if it is frozen enough to fish.

Thanks, and tight lines!

I'm thinking about fishing st. Catherine for the first time. Hoping to hook into some trout. I don't have the faintest idea of where to get on the ice or how the trout in the lake respond to fishing. Any tips would help! Thanks guys!

The state park is plowed out and is the easiest access.

I haven't heard of anyone catching perch anywhere but by the sunken island.

he's caught plenty of pike and perch, but he's addicted to the trout now.  We headed out for a couple hours on Saturday and lost a good one right at the hole.  It sure looked bigger than the 4.5lb one in the pic, but its always tough to tell.

Nice Brown. Good job kido. It's good to see other kids like me being introduced to the sport.  :)

I drove down to the Marina saturday morning, and it looked like the parking lot at Gillette out by the sunken island with all the headlamps walking around...so that tells me two things - the perch are biting there, and you better get there early.
