So..alot of us do things just because.....I spit on every bait before it goes down the hole..and maybe squirt a little scent on it. Also, I carry one of my great grand dad's traps and always set that one first. What do you do?

if im not getting any flags i do a few things one is def superstition the other two may not be. First off i check my baits bring them all the way up then back down again. Secondly, ill walk around my traps (ive gotten a few flags outta doing that) Thirdly, ill walk away from my traps, almost to the point where i cant see them, then walk back.

No flag's??Start cooking something works for me..It will be just about done and I'll get a flag. It's either take it off the stove or burn it.

If I'm not getting flags I lift up each trap about 2-3 feet and slowly set it back down. I'm not sure if that's a superstition or a technique.

As soon as you do something other than jig or watch flags, you will probably get a fish. Taking a pee works best.

Assidfotidae oil its a sure thing Old Percy Baxter told my Dad and I years ago if you want fish to bite put a drop of Assidfotidae oil in a brook or in your fishing hole and you will catch them all. I finally got a bottle and the rest is history. Never go hungry.

When I'm in the hard side alone jigging, I believe I can't jig a fish unless my boots are off.. most of the time I'm barefoot in the shack..

Thanks for the correction on the Assidfotidae oil when using it be extra careful not to put more than one drop down the hole . Its powerful stuff with other fishermen around the lake the lake could be fished dry. They would not have to reclaim it.

My buddy thinks its bad luck to drink Arnold palmer on the lake...

And I always have better luck when I forget something important.

One guy I fish with you can't put your shadow over his hole... Whether there's 6" or 3' of ice lol

When you skim out your hole make as much splashing as you can to an extreme . It will attract fish from all over the lake they think a feeding frenzy going on . then just get your hook down there and catch them.

Never re-drill a hole. Setting up 1 foot away from one is ok though.
