I rather put my house on the market and move to Colorado than troll trout (kidding TT i get bored on boat rides).I can't imagine not hardwater fishing in upstate NY day after xmas this year. We fished Fairfield county last year on 15th (2"but solid) in December. It looks like air-line tickets will be on the Christmas list. Enough said guess i will talk to boys and find out when we are walleye fishing on Squantz this weekend in shorts.

Fished Quassy today. Surface temp was 44. Other reports from CW and Highland has the surface temp at 43-44 degrees.

Ice isn't happening here anytime soon. Long range temps are still in the 40's and at night in the upper 20's and 30's.

Maybe by the 3rd week in January, there will be a few inches somewhere.

I was out on the yak at Mansfield yesterday morning. I had surface temp. at 48. No teeth; just one small larry, slightly larger than the big Lindy spinnerbait I was throwing .

I should have listened to Jon and fished live bait. That may be my last trip in the yak for a while. Time to put it up on stands and finally install a fishfinder.

We are under a winter storm warning. 4" of snow turning to freezing rain with significant ice accumulations...
