Well, since the 11-Mile gathering didn't really happen, maybe we should focus on a Cherry Creek get-together this month. Playoff game on 1/11, so that's out. I'm good for next Saturday, the 10th if others are. Or the 24th or 25th? Suggestions?

The 10th works for me. Even if the Broncos win on the 11th, the 17th (Sat ) is open, also. 24-25 OK too.

Man, that is sounding so tempting if I could get past my shyness. Of course, I've always believed that it makes more sense to drive 1-1/2 hours West to get skunked at Elevenmile than to drive an hour North to catch fish on the outskirts of Denver. You could fill a book on what I don't know about Cherry Creek. What does one fish for? Is it a live bait lake?

Stinkyfingers: to answer your question about Cherry Creek, yes its a live bait lake, albeit, a tough nut to crack, because of its stained water. But there are a verity of fish, Walleye, Wipers, LMB, Gills, Crappies, Yellow Perch, some Monster carp, and tons of Shad. Whiter there is sound/fishable ice remains to be seen.

I'll bring jambalaya. Just name the time and location and I'll be there. I have never fished CC, so will need some specific directions. Also nice to know what lures to bring. I've never fished live bait, if that is what I need.

Well there goes the 24th, not only the Wounded Warrior Tournament, Chatfield Ice Addition, and 3 lakes are the same day. Looks like we will have to meet up after safe ice and talk about how we miss having good ice to fish on. And how come the Bronco's were not in the "Super Bowl" LOL

Sunday, 1/25 or

In Vegas for ufc 183 weekend of the 31st. Not sure about the 25th, it's my only weekend to fish for the rest of the month. What's the likelihood of decent action at CC?

Yeah, Shaun -- good action on beers and brats, but fish? Prolly not. If you're looking to catch some nice fish that weekend, you might skip this one. But I think it's going to be fun.
