Thanks James. They are a lot of fun (and work) to make. Getting better at it as i keep practicing.

I didn't use a gimbal for these videos. I have a goose neck mount for the GoPro's (that's where most of the shake comes from) and a DJI Drone which has a built in gimbal mount that is much steadier than by hand.
I do have a steady cam hand held gimbal but hardly ever use it as it is a pain to set up. Just yesterday i got a Feiyu G4 for the GoPro. I'm still in the process of figuring it out but look forward to taking some footage with that. It seems to be very steady and very easy to set up. Just trying to figure out the different modes now.

Thanks for the reply Jiggin. I was under the assumption that I needed to buy a gimbal separately from the quad copter, but After seeing how smooth your video is from the copter, I'm going to try it without one. Thanks again!

Good luck with the Feiyu G4 it looks like a very nice addition.

Check out the DJI drones. They seem to be one of the best out there in terms of easy to fly right out of the box, when the battery is low or lose signals it returns home via GPS, good in the wind (not heavy wind), if you get into a panic just let the controls go, and it will hover etc etc..
The one i got has it's own camera but they have models that you can use a GoPro. Not sure about that gimbal for the DJI / GoPro combo, something to check into....

Another one to check out is the Lilly. It isn't coming out until Feb 2016. Very cool idea. I just wonder about obstacles and how it avoids them. They are taking pre-orders now. i plan to wait till they have been out for about a year before i possibly jump into that one but the idea is really cool.

See the below link to get an idea of what is coming up in 2016.

Thanks again Jiggin. I think the DGI drone is just the ticket for what I want to do with the gopro. I'll give the smart drones a couple years to get their products right if I ever decide I need something more advanced.

7/20/2015

Picked up my new bob house frame. Complete frame, floor, runners etc.. was done by NFS, Northern Fabrication Solutions, Jimmyrig and co.

I am amazed at how this came out. Literally from a Napkin Custom design concept to reality. Exactly the way i pictured.

The challenge was the long distance build of a unique custom design house and getting it right the first time. There were many elements to this build i think were a challenge such as none standard windows and siding not being on site for fitting / measurements during the build. I brought these and some other things down when i went to pick up the frame. They had to fit as i was driving around 3 hrs one way.
Honestly i was expecting there would be some redesigns or modification that would be needed while i was there, but there wasn't. Everything fit perfectly with no modifications required.
I must say, Jason listened to my needs and asked the right questions at the right time during the build. There were plenty of e mails back and forth with pics.

Now the ball rests with me to get this completed. As i move forward, i'll try to update the build.

Thanks NFS and Jason for your awesome work. It was my pleasure to do business with you.

Cheers.

Thanks! I'll update as I move along with the build. Got a little more done last night. Taking a week off in Aug to really dedicate some time into it.

Unfortunately i haven't had much time to fish this summer and now that i'm working on the bob house, most likely even less time.

Continuing on....fiberglass skin under shelf, insulation in shelf and then added the shelf. A lot of cutting....still need to do some trimming on the fiberglass skin making it flush to the frame.

Got it skinned today and a BIG THANK YOU to Bucktail, Tippin and Laker Taker for stopping by and giving me a hand. Much easier with help. CH appreciated too, otherwise she would of been the one helping me.

Still need to cut the windows out but going to wait until i wrap the house first.

My side...

Gotta put on the roof and start in on insulation.

Thanks! Trying to do your frame work justice.

Tape sticks great to the fiberglass.....but you only get one shot at it, if not right and you try to re-set it,  it will rip up the fiberglass.

So much more to do. Stay tuned.....
