Fished Magic today, only 2 inches of Ice at Mertle point. Went over to West Magic, maybe 3 inches there. Fished from 10:30 to 1:30. Caught 6 trout and 1 perch. The biggest was 19 inches. There is about 6 inches of snow up there. Be Careful, the ice isn't real thick yet.

Has the fishing picked up any yet? Looking for any tips on pulling perch through the ice.

I was also wondering what the thickness of the ice has been.  I haven't heard a lot of reports for Magic of late.

Fished Myrtle Point for 4 hours today, 2 people had 4 bites and caught 2 15-16" trout, No perch and no one by the west side boat docks were catching anything. Never saw another fish iced all day. Ice is 9-10"

I (we) fished Magic on Sunday. I put 5 on the ice 14" to 21" and the others caught 5 or 6 about the same size. All trout no perch. We lost about 4 good fish right at the hole. We were north of East side along the east bank.

Fished west Magic Saturday had 4 perch on the ice and lost 1 trout

Where'd all the perch go?  Heard the water level was low this year, how was the perch fishing last year?  We were thinking about fishing Magic Saturday.

I fished Magic on Monday the 26th.  Started at West Magic and worked a few places around the lake, but the bite for us was very slow.  Caught a couple of perch around 8-10", but no trout.  Ice was 10" of clear and 3" of white ice.

Anyone planning on going to magic this weekend ?  Never been there. I want to get at least one more day on the ice before
it's all over for this season.  Any info on this place  would be much appreciated.

I just got word that one of the locals at West Magic went thru the ice. He is ok and made it out. There is lots of water on the ice and there's about 20ft of open water between the shore and the ice. There is no word yet that the tournament has been canceled. Another local informed me that Don is going to post an annoucement on FaceBook whether the tournament would be cancelled or not. If I hear otherwise I'll let everyone know.

Sounds like they should definitely  cancel the tournament .

The Tournament has been cancelled. They are going to have a Turkey shoot instead on Saturday.
