I  like  P-Line  6  or  8  lbs for  Walleye.

It  is  low  stretch  and  plenty  strong  and  is  light  enough  when  the   fish  get  finicky.

I  do  have   a  couple  rods  spooled  with  PowerPro. 20 lb braid  with 15-20 ft  of  20lb  flourocarbon  leader  for  Lakers  and   Pike.

I use either Seaguar or P-Line fluoro in 6 or 8 lb for walleye, 4 lb for perch.  For pike and lake trout I use either 15 lb fluoro or have a couple of setups with suffix 832.

Fireline everyday of the week and twice on Sundays! 8 lbs or 10 lbs... no leader.

power pro Ice Tec with seaguar fluoro leaders different strengths for different species.
Suffix 832 isnt bad either

12lb Fireline is my favourite and you don,t need a steel leader

Until this year I always used braid in either power pro or fireline on my ice rods. I switched up to 8lb p-line after some advice for a friend and it was the best decision. It gave the rod a completely different feel and even the reel feels smoother when reeling up fish. It's plenty strong enough and the knot strength is great! The best part is a 300 yard roll is less than 10 bucks. I'd recommend it to anyone.
