We have had a huge improvement over the last 2 nights.
-14'C here this am and no wind.
Most of the bays are iced over.
However there is some wind and snow in the forecast for the next 3 days.
Then Mon to Wed back to -15'C at night and light winds.

So "IF" the winds don't break up what Ice we have and we don't get too much snow we
'could' be on the Perch grounds by the mid to end of next week

Unfortunately the wind has picked up, 50k gusts so I'll bet a lot of that ice will be over on the east side of the lake.

Thanks Pete

PipeGuy  You are so right about the wind!!!  and the enemy is winning. >:( >:(

Just checked at the end of 89 and the Gilford Rd(Cooks Bay) and where we had ice yesterday today most is gone!!!!

At 89 there is shore ice maybe 2 to 300 feet.  At Gilford Rd to the south there is still some ice holding.

However looking from here, end of Gilford Rd, to Crates on the Keswick side, There is some shore ice and then most ice open.

Reports are 6" black ice as of yesterday and 5" of snow. With the storm over night,snow/rain,I,ll bet it,s slushy out there.  One guy said it was a zoo out there. Not surprised,as it,s the only good play ground around.

Rick,If the bay here gets froze up past the 2nd,I might be able to get to some whitie grounds. ;D

Stay safe out there fellas.

Yes Brian

This week should make a huge improvement.

Virginia, Port Bolster and south end of Cooks The typical Simcoe Perch grounds should have some fishable ice.
