Hi everyone, I did some open water fishing on DCL two weeks ago, did good on perch and walleye, some coves had 1.5 inches of ice, I think there is nothing left, going to chase ice in upstate New York

Good luck in NY. Most all the smaller lakes will be locked up good by next weekend.  Warm spell did it's damage up there as well but there was still some ice in higher elevations.  Fished on 7" today.

Visit the sheltered southern coves this weekend. There will be safe ice at Green Glade, North Cove, maybe Turkey Neck

Try pig putty inside and out. Might work.

One short of a limit Sunday.  Fishing was fast and furious for a while in the morning then was a Dead Sea.

Man, you're absolutely right about dead see. I pulled walleye from the very first hole and then it died for everyone.

On Sunday three of us ended up with 18 perch, 8 gills, and 2 walleye.  It was a pretty good bite early and then did die.  We had to work for them the rest of the day.  If you could get one on your sonar, you could usually catch it.  When the clouds rolled in early afternoon, we caught some fish.
