Anyone fishing Perch Lake yet? Ice conditions? I know the early bite is usually pretty hot for northerns!

Word is they were on perch today I'm working weekend or I would have been checking it out. Wish u still had shop up here take care.

Well with the warming temps, rain, & wind.
More importantly I hope some lurkers don't go for an unwanted swim.
Some just feel the need to seek popularity by posting there's fishing in some spots.
Those spots that existed today will be gone tomorrow.
I doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

I'd be leary of perch lake anyway that usually freezes up same time as sandy pond

I took a drive and checked the ice on Perch Lake about noon today. About 10 people fishing on about 5 inches of ice.

Was planning on fishing Xmas morning, but it supposed to be 46* tomorrow and 53* Wed with rain. Probably going to ruin the ice.

Unfortunately, my heavier buddy has to work, so I can't send him ahead of me to test the ice.

I wouldn't. Rained all night. Hi near 54* tomorrow with rain. National Weather Service Hi wind watch in effect Xmas. 24 to 34 mph winds with higher gusts.

I'm doing the smart thing and staying off.

I would be leary walking on ice this week end by myself ,with a child it would be out of the question....please be safe life jackets and spuds save lives

rt12 to route 16 go under 81 than turn left onto perch lake road until you come to the road to perch lake refuge go under 81 to the parking area

I went there today hammered the pickeral an northerns , even pulled out a 20 pounder, nearly pulled me threw but the is about 5-8 inches of ice , fish are biting soo good luck to ya

Probably not. It's probably as real as Santa Claus & the Easter Bunny.

Biggest I got Sunday was 36 inch 13.20 lb.

I'd say the 13 lb range is near the max for Perch Lake. There is to much pressure to produce a 20 lber these days. It was different in the mid 90s when the lake was first opened to the public
