Tanaka - Nils Proper Orientation?
« on: Dec 20, 2014, 09:34 PM »
Hi there,

Just a quick question, when attaching the Tanaka powerhead to the Nils auger using the supplied Nils adapter does the bolt insert into the flat cutout side of Nils auger thru the larger opening of the Nils adapter?  Just wanna make sure before I wrench it all on.  Thanks. :)

Yes the bolt goes through and will be tight to the auger. When you put nut on other side hold bolt with Allen provided so it doesn't loosen up when tightening nut. Oil the threads the adapter goes to.

Thanks Hamms, I used a 3/4" socket with the Allan key to tighten it up.  How tight does the adapter need to go on to the powerhead?  I used the supplied wrench and tightened it securely by hand.

It's nice to have a little Blue LockTite on the threads of the nut.    ;)2

Don't lose that wrench you get with it . The nut is a lock tite so unless you take it apart often all you need to do is once .

I'm thinkin' that's some sort of new comer nut.       I do remember the old style Nylock nuts, hm.   Guess I need to get out more.

BlueDevil, glad to hear all is good with your new auger.      ;)2
