Wow, I am going to check those things out.  I can fillet a fish but sometimes leave a bit of meat on the skin when trying to skin it.  I can cut through the ribs and leave them on that tool will even eliminate the rib cage.  Thanks for showing that.  What I love about this site.

It looks like a Townsend Skinner with a motor but costs 5 times as much.  It only has a 90 day warranty too.  That is a red flag to me.  If they can't warrant the product for at least a full year then it probably has not been put through the proper amount of QA and testing.  Something that costs 150+ should be expected to last more than 90 days before you should have to pay to have it repaired.

I agree with you Wax about the warranty and the price.  I rarely clean fish anyway unless I'am on a fishing trip with the guys and they want to keep them.  They all like fishing with me because I never want any of the fish.  I was thinking of a Christmas gift for my brother.  It looks handy if your cleaning 100 fish at a time.

Seems like another gimmicky tool.

I am sure most can skin a fillet with a knife faster than this thing.

My gill fillets are way to big for that thing. I'd have to take an extra step to cut the fillet in half first!  ;D

I prefer to eat em scaled with the skin on.
There is only one theory about angling in which I have perfect confidence, and this is that the two words, least appropriate to any statement, about it, are the words "always" and "never."

That way is definitely the tastiest imo. I still enjoy old school at times where you pull the bones out at dinner.

I think the average crappie will fit, and the smallest of legal size pike, but anything bigger definitely not. Either way I don't think it will save time. Only think it may be beneficial to those with hand cramping problems, carpel tunnel, tendinitis, etc. Not worth the money for me though, that's for sure.

I talked to the guys selling it at the ice show in St. Paul. It is the old townsend skinner, they said the patent had run out and they modified it to what you see no.

The townshed works good for the ribs if you have someone that is not that good with a knife , my x and I could do about 40 perch in 20 to 25 min. I would slab them she would rib them. Same with gills
