First Outing of the Season 👍🎣
« on: Dec 20, 2014, 06:46 PM »
The day started with an amazing sliver of a moon just above the Horizon at dawn. It was a balmy 15 degrees upon arrival. We had a decent sunrise and some interesting shots of the sky. The flags were popping here and there , mostly pickerel. Some perch and calico were also caught. The pond was busy but not too packed, 11/12 vehicles, 6-7 groups. The ice Varied 👍 👍!  No bass but hey, we were ice fishing  ;D  Great day with great guys! The day ended with a decent sunset .

Great day for sure Keith. Was awesome to get out on the ice. A few flags and great company made for a perfect day. Couldn't stay for the sunset so thanks for the usual sunset shots. Good luck tomorrow

Had a great time with some fellow shanty members on the pond. Caught tons of pickerel and perch and a lone crappie. As Keith stated, the bass were not biting yesterday but the weather and the camaraderie were excellent.

P.S. Thanks Jim at JCB Bait in Cheshire for your help.

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.

2X

Must have had 6-8" based on the group hanging so close together.
If it was 'just thick enough" then I'd be wary of hanging so close together for fear of becoming a statistic!

Mother nature was making ice yesterday, all day. Three inches of white over 2 inches of trapped water over 5 inches of white ice.Never broke thru top layer once all day .

Manny hope to meet you at some point this season.  If we don't get fishable ice soon I will be coming out your way sooner than later.

Manny if we can get a group of these guys together we'll take them up to Emarld Lake in VT. Show them a real hill.  LOL. When you need a rope trolly to get your gear up and down. Now thats a hill.

No worries on remembering the name.  We got a bunch of small pickerel, and my buddy, pmaloney86 on here, jigged up a couple of small perch.  Regardless, it was great to be back out on the hardwater

Yes, it was great to get out there.  JSchumacher, nice to meet you.  Sorry I didn't get around to meeting everyone but I was just too focused on tending my flags seeing as though it was the first time out this year.  I'm sure I will see some of you guys out there again.  I hope the ice holds up during this week.  Good luck out there.

Jeff, I would love to get out with some shanty members and introduce them to that hill. I have never seen "yard sale hill" but I have heard about it.As you know ,I have been to Emerald and have seen that hill close up. Three seconds to descend and 30 minutes and 3 stops to get back up.    :P   :cookoo:

bassMASSter and pmaloney86,I am sure we will meet up and,if so,do not hesitate to join our crew.
