Lobster Lake (northeast carry)
« on: Dec 20, 2014, 05:47 PM »
I've seen a few old threads on here about access to this lake. I was wondering if anybody knows if you can drive to it in the winter or is it only accessible via snowmobile? Thanks

Fish only in February and special rules. Get there via snowmobiles using the Golden Road. Several ways to get in, but snowmobiles are a must and it can be long depending where you come in from. Wardens usually come in by airplane.

I understand the regs and everything. Thanks. I just don't have a sled yet and was hoping there was a way to get on without one  :-\

If the loop road is plowed, it's possible to walk in.   Definitely better to have a snowmobile.

Is the loop road generally plowed? How long of a walk? Thanks for the info. Hopefully I will be able to buy a sled this year  :)

Its a long long walk to get to the lake from the loop rd.. Been there and It sucked.. The cove u end up in is shallow mud bottom anyways and a bad place to fish on the lake.. So finding a sled or different lake to walk on may be your best option..
