West Shoal Lake

Just wondering if anyone knows what the fishing is like at West Shoal Lake? I have never been there and am looking for a new place to try.

Not sure what to fish for there? I understand there is a good amount of perch and jack. If anyone could give me a suggestion it would be greatly appreciated. I am going out first thing in the morning and don't want to go back to the Red!

Well I did get out, was on the ice for about 6 hours and managed 8 pike. All pretty good fish between 22 and 27 inches.
Hoping to go out again tomorrow.

How do u get on the west side. There is a big ridge on the est side so I heard it wasn't to safe to cross it?

Where I went on the West side, there was only one shack and one set of tracks. I followed it and stayed close to shore.

A truck went through partially on one of the shoal lakes so be careful with those ridges. ::)

When did that truck go through? On the east side ridge? Anyone up there since the 24th? Want to go up with the family on Sunday but that's scarey if the ice ridge is open on the east side? Anyone got a update please? Thanks alot

I am heading out to East Shoal Lake tomorrow. Anyone know about the ice ridge?
