I put in a request for a Kansas Ice fishing area on here. If I can get a few other Kansas ice fisherman to chime in he will add an area for us! Yeah I know we are at the bottom of the ice belt and pry a few State below but we have some phenomenal ice fishing for the 1-2 months we actually have ice!

this year may be no ice fishing but Wilson is hot now for walleye and stripers

Would be nice, I've been saving up gas money, would like to get over for at least a couple trips. My excuse will be so the wife can visit relatives. Just don't tell her the reason is to go ice fishing or I'm dead.

Hey new to KS glad to see some other ice fisherman on here!! Just moved from PA would like to meet some other ice fisherman. Contact me if you would like to meet a guy from PA. Use to live here before. Stationed at Ft. Riley long time ago then as Fed. Officer (EOD) was stationed in Wichita. Now retired from that and working for NAPA

YEAH!!! I'd love to see a KS fishing forum on here! They don't get a very long ice season to the south but it still would be very productive. I think that some of the ice fishing tactics in KS are a bit different compared to northern states considering the short ice season. Most of the time the fish are still hitting a lot of open water vertical jigging presentations.

That is no kidding! The ice and the quality of fishing. It can be a pretty short season but oh boy the fishing is Amazing. I think a Kansas Forum would be great. It would make it a whole lot easier for me to tell the boss I am going to be gone if I new there would be ice.

Just let all us Nebraskans know when the ice is safe, and we will come invade the lakes.

I caught some great fish this spring in Kansas, I'd love to do it through the ice.

I live in Kansas, but have never ice fished here. There was a day a few years back that I was considering it here in the metro KC, but the next day was 55 degrees and rain.

Having a Kansas forum would help out a lot I am think. Guys would tell us how the ice conditions are for us out of staters. I grew up in Kansas an fish glen elder and lovewell on a weekly basis in high school. Hope to see a Kansas slot soon!

Was living at Emporia, knew a guy had his own pond with catfish in it. I had fixed him some beer battered deep fried fish, he wanted the directions so his wife could cook some up for him to take to work. Turned out she used vodka instead of beer LOL

In Depth Outdoors did a Kansas ice fishing show last year actually and it was hilarious. The locals were using full size poles jigging 1/4 jig heads. I think it was Glen Elder.
