Looking at the long range forecast if they are right it's going to be a tough year everywhere. The big bodies of water are going to be very late this year I have a feeling.
A good day fishing inst complete unless it's spent with family or friends.

Yeah not looking promising. Maybe small ponds might be ready by January. Got my fingers crossed! Sodus isn't looking promising either

the forecast right now is way too moderate and variable...I would be surprised if we get a month on Cayuga. It's not shaping up well around here. a little depressing

I thought You were starting a thread about finger lakes ? ::)   Black lake ? ;)
Of all the finger lakes I would say Silver and Honeoye would be first to freeze ...
They really hammered the crappie out of Silver this year [open water] I hope there is a few left to get through the ice.

Agreed Silver first, followed shortly by Honeoye and then hopefully the North end of Conesus. All those other deeper Lakes-good luck..

Fished the canal today in Newark. No ice but got the ice gear out to try our new stuff. Caught some perch crappie and gills. Few nice ones but nothing to brag about

As usual you are correct, Silver is not officially one of the Finger Lakes. But it does freeze early and "some" people catch some fish outta there!!

Canal? Silver? Still FL region to me. Got out on keuka, honeoye, conesus, and some local small ponds last year. Did well for bass, gills, perch, and pike. I'm ready to get out, but might be doing some open water fishing this week instead. Teebug, maybe this year we can get out on the canal. I want to check it off my list of places to try. Last year I wanted to try canadice or hemlock, but I am still yet to go there either

We get the cold they are talking it shouldn't be too long before canal and others get ice. Widewaters has some open spots now but still ice there. Unfortunately itll be gone by the weekend
