Xmas Cooldown
« on: Dec 18, 2014, 05:07 AM »
Looks like we will be getting a big cooldown the day after Xmas and it will continue for quite some time.  Hope this is what we need in SW Mich to get some good ice. I'm hoping we only need about 10 days of cold stuff to get on the ice.

With that being the case, I think me and my buddies are heading up north for a few days before the end of the month and after Christmas. Any hints on where? Would like to go to Muskegon but I doubt that will be good.

I've been checking the water temperature at my lake, chain Lake near Cassopolis, and surface water temp is still 32 to 33 degrees. if we get a good cold snap, I think I'll be on the lake in four to five days after with 4"

The forecasts keep changing, now it looks like it gonna be one of those winters in southeastern Michigan. Not a happy camper
But don't quote me on that. I have a drinking problem, I keep running out of beer. I've always been a little bit crazy, but its kept me from going insane.
