Seems like every weekend last winter we got snow and the worst temps. This winter is starting out the exact opposite, warmer weather on the weekends than during the week.

Taking off for NC with the girlfriend for a week around Xmas. I'm hoping we have some solid ice down here in McLean county by the time I get back. I'd much rather ice fish in 20 degree temps than open water fish in the 30s.

looks like the week after new years day some time we are suppose to get temps in the teens ..like i saw 15 and 27 as the HIGH so im hoping we can get some ice here. Fingers crossed!!

I saw the forecast tonight single didgets for lows next week. Hopefully in two weeks will have 4+ inches.

Bubbahide, the low for Joliet is 6 degrees tonight, guys in my neck of the woods are chomping at the bit for that type of cold. You should be good to go on 4 inches possibly by the weekend with those temps. 2 weeks is a given that you will have fish able ice

Driving from NC to Batavia and the Batavia back home to Blo/No, we saw a ton of ice on the small ponds and even on the rivers in IL. Should be good by next weekend down here in Central IL. Saw highs of 14 and 9 for Monday and Wednesday next week.
