Only about 3 or 4 inches yesterday--saw one guy out but today has been only in high 20s so hopefully we'll get some more cemented down. I'm planning Friday night and Saturday myself.

Hey, let us know how you do!
I like to sit around on the ice doing nothing because my wife won't let me do it at home.

I fished it last Saturday. Had some decent crappie but didn't get into any pike or walleye unfortunately.

If I can play my cards right at work, and can get some confirmation that guys are getting back out there, I might try it Friday morning.

Please update if you do!  I'm looking to drive up from Indiana for the weekend and need as many ice reports as possible.

Any tips you can give on where to set up on the lake?  I don't want anyone's honey hole, just a general direction.

Private message me if you want me to keep it under my hat  ;)

Fished Mitchell this afternoon.

6" of ice on Big Cove with some snow cover, cleats not needed for most areas but nice to have in some spots.

lots of little crappies and one keeper walleye.

They would come up on the screen and follow the jig up and move away, except a little one from time to time.
changed jigs several times, couldn't  find the right one. Talked to several others and they had the same thing happening.

Saw a couple pike caught, they kept one that looked close to a 30, or maybe a  bit smaller.

One guy had a dozen or so of real nice gills, but he said he had to sort a lot to get them.

Good Luck All

Great report and nice walleye, looks like winter up there.
But don't quote me on that. I have a drinking problem, I keep running out of beer. I've always been a little bit crazy, but its kept me from going insane.

Hit Mitchell today. 5in was the thinnest spot I found. Most spots were 6in of ice. Fared well on the weed edges with silver tungstens/waxies. 8-10 piggy gills and two 13in crappie. Caught a small pike and a big pike that bit off. Hitting it hard again tomorrow.
