Do you actually fish lion lake? You must catch and release then...

Ya bucket I fished it quite a bit last winter. Yes I catch and release. Actually have caught some nice perch and trout out of it.

I was out there a couple Sundays ago. It was probably top 3 sketchiest ice I have been on, we couldn't make it anywhere we wanted to go b/c of open water pockets so just popped a couple holes closer to shore just to get the lines wet. That was during our warm period, it was 42* when we were fishing. I haven't been back just b/c I assume there hasn't been enough cold to get it sealed up again.

I guess I'm confused by the catch and release comments here. I don't see anything in the regs about Lion Lake at all, let alone catch and release. I don't fish it, but would like to stay informed. What's going on here?? Thanks........

Ha, I looked at the regs this morning after reading that comment also and was thinking the same. I don't think I have ever noticed it posted on the sign either as a special regulation. I don't know

Don't know what bucket was getting at. I was just stating I catch and release by choice.

It was just a bad comment that I made. I personally think the lake is dirty from...well...summer swimmers.
