Temp forcast

Just looked at the extended temp forecast for Omaha. Through Jan. cold to very cold! Things might be looking good for some good ice!

The long-range forecast is calling for single-digit overnight lows for the week between Christmas and New Years. Those are good ice-making temperatures!

Sweet! I think after we get ice it will last till the spring thaw. Just remember that first time out bring your spud bar along!

A Spud bar makes for a GREAT "walking stick" on ANY ice thickness.

Another SAFETY tip:  Follow your tracks BACK especially when fishing "early" or "late" ice!

If wind lays down and gets well below freezing.  Maybe.   Just got home from work and birdbath is rock solid.
Should go try out the pro4 lite propane auger.  Ha

I hope we get some ice soon.  If not I'm going to start drilling holes in hockey rinks just to try out my new K-Drill. ;D

They DO use a similar tool to drill the holes to support the nets!

Maybe the Stars will allow you that pre-game ritual!

My forecast looks more like xmas or the friday after. Go time. Good thing ill get to test my gear out in SD this weekend before fishing Nebraska. ::)

Love my new K Drill!! I got the 6" now I'm kind of wondering what it would have been like to get the 8 inch but I think the 6 will save on battery . Although their is not really enough ice to be out fishing so far this year but there was  plenty for drilling holes in the shallows 4-5" only about 2" out were the fish were at. I bet I have already fired 100 holes with my new k-dRill awesome toy! ;D

lunkerlooker, some of us (NOT ME!) were blessed with ice in November.  This CHRISTmas ice prediction is "normal" to a week early for most years.
